Description:
Reporting to the Returning Officer and the Election Clerk, New hire will Train all Revising Agents and poll officials to do their respective jobs; Organize the supplies and equipment necessary to conduct the training sessions; Give Elections Ontario HQ feedback on the suitability of the training approach and materials for the target audiences; Use training tools that complement the materials; Instruct Resource Staff on how to arrange the furniture and the equipment in the training room; Advise Resource Staff of the required supplies for each training session; Perform other duties as assigned by the Returning Officer or designate.Qualifications:
- Experience with adult education or training; Experience operating PCs and peripherals (speakers, projector, presentation clicker); Basic knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint®; Experience with tablet devices is considered an asset; Basic knowledge of the electoral district; Basic knowledge of adult learning principles; Basic knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of Revising Agents and poll officials; Understanding of the operational processes and procedures of Elections Ontario training programs; Adult learner training skills; Sensitive to the needs of people with disabilities and/or low literacy; Excellent interpersonal communication (oral and written) and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and communicate solutions to staff in an efficient and timely manner (and in French, when required); Strong technical skills; Able to complete data entry using specific software programs; Organizational skills; Planning and scheduling skills; Able to identify and verify hard copy information provided by employees in a timely manner; Fast learner; Ability to understand, rationalize, and resolve situations efficiently as they escalate; Ability to work for long stretches of time especially during election days; Must be 18 years of age or older; Must be eligible to work in Canada. Training dates: March 4 to March 6 in London, Ontario. The candidate MUST be able to travel to training during this time. Accommodation, meals and mileage are covered.
