Ready to Work (Tourism & Hospitality)
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Ready to Work Program will prepare you to work in Canada’s Tourism and Hospitality sector. This includes jobs in retail, food services, accommodations, transportation, recreation, attractions, events, and more.
This program will develop and enhance your tourism and hospitality skills, English vocabulary, and awareness of the Canadian work culture and environment. You will gain hands-on culinary experience while earning 5 certifications which are well sought after by employers in this sector to help you to secure a job!
Session runs for 10 weeks: April 2 – June 7, 2023, Mon. to Fri. from 9 am – 3:30 pm. Computer equipment is provided on loan and all other materials needed to ensure you have everything you need to fully participate. An orientation is also available if you are not familiar with Google Workspace (Google Classroom/Google Meets/Gmail) to ensure you feel comfortable and confident before attending class!
ELIGIBILITY:
- Must be a permanent resident or conventional refugee
- Must have a CLB 4+
- Must be age 18 or over
- Must be ready and willing to work
- Must be committed to the 10-week program
